Donate today to be a part of the future of Side Street Studio Arts!
Through the generous support of the Reva & David Logan Foundation, Side Street Studio Arts, NFP is embarking on an exciting transition - moving to a permanent location in downtown Elgin! Our future home, located at 62 S. Grove Ave., will allow our exhibition, performance, education, and advocacy programs to all live under one roof, offer greater accessibility for all, and quadruple our space.
The Logan Foundation has purchased this historic riverfront building and will rent it back to Side Street for a nominal amount. This will save our organization approximately $50,000 per year, which can go back into programming and paying artists. That said, we have grand plans for build-out and programming growth, and we need your help!
Your tax-deductible donation of any size will help us.

UPDATES
April 2024 Update
It has been a busy winter! We passed our Planning and Zoning meeting in December, and began researching and putting together the information needed for our next submission up for review to City Council. That review and vote will be held Wednesday, April 10th. Once our project passes we will begin applying for all permitting for 62 with the hopes of starting construction later this summer! An updated construction schedule foresees the project being completed in Summer of 2025... fingers crossed! (UPDATED 4/25 - WE DID IT!!! City Council voted unanimously to approve our #futurehome project and TIF ask! We are now working with our GC and archtitecure team to finalize drawings for submission to The City for permitting reviews. Stay tuned!)
November 2023 Update
We were notified November 17th we had moved forward with the zoning process and will be reviewed at the Elgin Planning and Zoning Committee in December. This is after many, many months of working with our architects and creating the zoning application needed to showcase how we will be utilizing this beautiful old building. We will need to do some more editing of our drawings, but once we receive the go ahead from Planning and Zoning we will be scheduled to present our plan for City Council in January. (Fingers Crossed!)

With Small Business Saturday, Giving Tuesday, and the holidays fast approaching, Erin, Tanner, and all the Side Street staff continue to work on fundraising efforts like pop up events, online campaigns, house parties, and of course, schmoozing it up with local influencers, officials, and pirates. Well, okay. Maybe just the pirates.
Maybe.
June 2023 Update
We are excited to announce our 62 BOUND: Fundraising for The Arts summer series! Each month we will showcase programming we currently run that will benefit from expansion of our new facility.

Also, we are working with architects and engineers planning Phase 1 of the project, fundraising to develop the facility in 3 stages/phases. Phase 1 will be the completion of the ground floor for exhibition and performance with the goal of occupancy and space usage by June 2024.

Side Street Directors and Staff will be there to show you around, talk future plans, and answer any questions you may have.
