COMMUNITY MOVES

education through exploration

Community Moves, the dynamic education and outreach arm of Side Street Studio Arts, ignites creativity and self-expression in young artists through vibrant visual and performing arts programs. By meeting artists where they are—whether in schools, community centers, or public spaces—Community Moves ensures that arts education is accessible, inspiring, and impactful. Since 2012, it has empowered up to 500 young creatives each school year, fostering innovation, confidence, and responsible citizenship. Through exciting collaborations with the City of Elgin, Downtown Neighborhood Association, Lords Park Zoo, Boys and Girls Club of Elgin, and Elgin Police Department, Community Moves brings the power of the arts to life across the community!
