Design Pride with Side Street!

Join us in bringing Weeds & Wildflowers: A Community Pollination Project to life for Elgin Pride 2025!

We’re looking for passionate, creative, and community-minded volunteers to help us prepare for and participate in a series of joyful, art-filled events leading up to and during the Elgin Pride Parade on Saturday, June 7th. This collaborative project uses themes of weeds, wildflowers, and pollination to celebrate growth, resilience, and the power of community!

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

Event Support — Sunday, June 1, 11 AM–3 PM @ Side Street Studio Arts: Join us for a creative day where participants will make seed bombs, wearable flower crowns, mixed media signs, and hand-printed t-shirts inspired by the Weeds & Wildflowers theme. We’ll be mixing clay, wildflower seeds, and low-odor fertilizer to create hundreds of giveaway bombs for parade-goers.

Pride Parade Crew — Saturday, June 7, 10:30AM-3PM, Downtown Elgin: March with us in the Elgin Pride Parade, helping distribute seed bombs and informational leaflets to the crowd. Volunteers can carry handmade signs created at the June 1 event, help decorate our support truck, and spread joy and community spirit along the route.

Festival Volunteers (June 7, after the parade | 2PM-5PM, approximately): Support our booth at the Pride Festival, which will include setting up a Mini-MADE retail station and a seed bomb making station where attendees can create their own wildflower bombs to take home.

This is a perfect opportunity for individuals, families, friend groups, and organizations to show their pride, support local arts, and pollinate the community with positivity—one wildflower at a time.
