How to Avoid Exposure to COVID 19: 

  • Do not travel to affected areas. 

  • Regularly wash hands for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer. 

  • Avoid touching your nose, mouth and eyes. 

  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow. 

  • Avoid people who are sick. 

  • Consider avoiding handshakes. 

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects/surfaces.

  • If you feel ill, stay home and seek the attention of a health professional.  

The Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois Poison Control Center have launched the Illinois Novel Coronavirus Hotline and email address to answer questions regarding the Coronavirus. The hotline and email address were created to provide consistent information, answer questions, share facts about symptoms, and provide up-to-date information from the CDC. Illinoisans can call 1-800-889-3931 or email dph.sick@illinois.gov to get their questions answered.
