Side Street Studio Arts

Working towards opening the doors to our new home

Since Side Street Studio Arts opened its doors in 2013, art education has always been at the forefront of our priorities. We are proud to employ highly experienced, professional artist-educators to facilitate our workshops, educational classes, and programs. Our arts ed classes are not just for the youngest of artists. We offer a wide range of courses for all ages to grow their artistic abilities and showcase their creativity. We at Side Street Studio Arts pride ourselves in creating safer spaces for students of all ages to work, play, and develop their processes and educational pursuits.

Over these last ten years, Side Street has outgrown our walls, all thanks to the continuous support and enthusiasm of the community we serve. As we raise funds for the renovations of our new home at 62 S Grove here in downtown Elgin, we will continue to provide exceptional arts education with the goal of making our arts programming bigger and better than ever!

What we have accomplished:

In 2022 alone, we provided:

  • 439 free or low-cost, on-site educational events

  • 64 free or low-cost, off-site educational events

  • Host 90 students per day for our summer arts education camps

What we left on the table:

In 2022 alone, we fell short because over 100 young artists were left on waitlists, unable to attend classes.

Our future home will allow us to host 120 young artists per day, still providing them the full support and attention of our arts educators.
