What Remains Hidden

7ft x 3ft

Hanging installation photographed in a studio. Three black spoked wheels hang from the ceiling at different heights, and hundreds of long strands fall from their rims to the floor: columns of square grey-and-black marbled tiles, strands of red, black and silver beads, and fine silver chains. Small glowing light bulbs hang inside the curtain of strands, along with a few small rectangular metal plates. The ends of the strands coil and pool on the cream floor cloth beneath.

"What Remains Hidden"
What Is Hidden Inside, 100% Human

We all hide, we all conceal, we all have chatter in our minds. What is it saying? Who are you? How do you feel today? What if it were all exposed? What do we show people? We are all 100% human, but we seem to forget that. The boundaries we set up. How do we personally protect ourselves? What happens when we are exposed? What would happen if someone did an x-ray of your true thoughts and feelings?

"What Remains Hidden" is an example of the chains we create for ourselves: the beads of each day, each thought, each feeling. The words that are in our heads, constantly telling our story.

Identity, vulnerability, secrets, memories, layers, silence, fear, shame, desire, loss, love, pain, hope, fragility, mortality, decay, connection, isolation, belonging, unseen, unknown, buried.

Revealed, no longer invisible.
