Cutie Patootie

My name is Rebekah Taylor, and my piece is titled "Cutie Patootie." This piece features a tarantula, a real tarantula, one that was once alive, has since passed naturally, and is now preserved in this beautiful art piece. The tarantula has its legs splayed. It's about the size of my palm, maybe a bit bigger. It has a cute little bow on its back and is adorned with lace. This art piece shows that spiders don't have to be feared. They can be cute. They can be comforting. They can be art. I think all nature is art, and I love to showcase my bugs, especially spiders, in a way that makes them a little less intimidating.
