The Weave – A Community Pop-Up Market

On November 29, Side Street Studio Arts will host the Holiday edition of The Weave, an open-market event where artists and community members can sell, swap, or give away handmade items, found treasures, and gently used clothing. This event is designed to foster a collaborative space where we can share our art and resources while building community.

The Weave was initiated in early 2025 as part of Explorations of Equity in the Arts in Elgin, a Side Street Studio Arts initiative supported by Healing Illinois. This program was designed to empower and uplift artists of color through curated exhibitions, artist-driven merchandise, and community workshops. By fostering artistic collaboration, economic opportunities, and racial equity in the arts, The Weave brings people together to celebrate creativity and resource-sharing.
