SONGWRITER SHOWCASE

Side Street Studio Arts is set to show off 3 very talented singer songwriters; Facing Winter, Apaolo, and Ryan Borens.

Facing Winter:

Facing Winter, lead by singer songwriter Justin Birchard, was established in 1999 and has been active for more than 20 years. Their distinctively warm and driving songwriting and intricate compositions are highlighted by Justin’s vibrantly emotive vocals and fearlessly vulnerable lyrics. The Band has performed more than 500 shows in Chicago and around the Midwest. Facing Winter has released seven studio albums and will be releasing a new EP in Spring of 2024.

Apaolo:

Apaolo is an Indie/Alt Rock artist who combines anthemic choruses with prolific guitar playing. He is known for his funny and energized on-stage personality. Currently, he is based in Cincinnati, but lives in his minivan. Apaolo’s music focuses on themes such as nostalgia, girls, drugs and freedom. Raised in New Jersey, Apaolo has a deep love for emo and pop punk music.

Ryan Borens:

Ryan Borens is a veteran singer/songwriter of Chicago's indie music scene. Cutting his teeth in bands Prairie Smoke and Happy Face, Ryan's work ethic, seriousness, and joy for music is apparent to anyone who has ever heard him play. Now, Ryan Borens focuses on his solo career, fusing folk, garage rock and psychedelic rock into a dynamic, energetic, emotional catalog of music that dates back to 2017.

Doors open at 6:30pm, Performances begin at 7pm.
