Janelle O’Malley - is an interdisciplinary artist, art educator, and independent curator working in Northern Illinois. Her work consists of painting, fiber, and sculpture which speaks about nostalgia, identity making and collective memory. Janelle has a BFA in painting and is currently pursuing dual masters degrees in art + design education and sculpture from Northern Illinois University. Her educational research focuses on the positive effects of non-profit art education access in struggling communities, decolonizing of museum spaces and place based pedagogy in museum education.
