The Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) and Side Street Studio Arts are partnering this Holiday Season to support small businesses in Downtown Elgin during the Holly Days Campaign! The mission of the Holly Days Campaign is to encourage visitors to shop in Downtown Elgin businesses and will start off on Small Business Saturday and continue throughout the month of December. DNA and Side Street Studio Arts are now taking applications for artists to paint a fun holiday-themed window display for one of fifteen local businesses.

We are looking for designs to capture the essence of the holidays. We encourage artists to make artwork that features popular holiday characters of diverse holiday traditions, or submit artwork that is "selfie friendly" or interactive in some way. Artists will have time to paint windows between November 8th - November 22nd to be ready for small business Saturday November 25th. Clean up will take place between January 2nd - 15th and will be coordinated between the artists and the business.

Windows will be assigned and coordinated by Side Street Studio Arts and will be based on availability. Artists will receive supplies and a stipend ranging from $150- $250 depending on window size. Artists will receive half of their stipend after window has been completed and the second half once windows have been cleaned. If artists are interested in doing more than one window, they must submit multiple designs.

Applications must be submitted by November 5th at midnight and they will be reviewed and approved as they are received.
