Side Street Studio Arts is kicking off its 11th year of Battle Of The Bands! We are accepting 16 regional bands to perform throughout the summer. The battles begin SATURDAY, JUNE 2nd, with the final battle on SATURDAY, AUGUST 3rd.

Side Street Studio Arts’ annual Battle Of The Bands competition allows artists the freedom of expression and is designed to build support for the local music and art scenes. Bands from all over the area share space, creativity, and audiences during this summer-long, un-juried competition. Hone your craft, build a following, and win a prize package worth over $1000.

Round 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, & 1.4: (4 bands per night, 2 bands advance each night) - 25-30 minute sets
Round 2.1 & 2.2 (Semi Finals): (2 bands per night, 1 band advances each night) - 35-45 minute sets
Finals: (2 bands enter, 1 band leaves... as the winner) - 35-45 minute sets

BATTLE RULES/REGULATIONS:

1.HAVE FUN.

2. THIS IS A "POPULAR VOTE" COMPETITION. The band(s) with the most votes at the end of each round will move forward in the competition.

3. ORIGINAL MATERIAL ONLY.
- Any cover songs performed during any battle will result with disqualification or forfeiture of the BOTB.

4. ALL PARTICIPANTS are required to sign a Side Street Studio Arts Battle Of The Bands contract and performer liability waiver which includes consent for SSSA usage of photos, audio/video recording. Failure to complete the BOTB contract and all participant(s) liability waivers by your FIRST ROUND DATE will be immediately disqualified.

5. LOAD IN and CHECK IN is 1 hour prior to door time: 5:30pm. Failure to check in prior to showtime will result in disqualification or forfeiture of the battle.

6. DOORS are open 30 minutes prior to show time. Battles are ALL AGES, $10, and open to the public.

7. VOTING: Votes can only be accepted by patrons in attendance at each battle. Patrons are allowed only ONE vote with an issued voting ticket from the door. AGAIN: one ticket per voter. Voters can cast their vote in the voting boxes at anytime during the battle. Voting boxes will be monitored by SSSA staff. One representative from each band will have the opportunity to watch vote counting, at the discretion of SSSA staff. Any physical tampering or actions deemed as "voter fraud" by a performer of any battling group will result in disqualification for the entire performing group.

8. ANNOUNCEMENT OF BATTLE WINNERS will occur at the end of event after the vote count. One representative of each participating band is welcome to observe the ticket count, though it is not required. Two staff members/BOTB committee members will count votes.

9. *WINNERS of their battle must be available for all following rounds, where applicable. If not, the result will be in forfeiture. Please refer to 'Battle Dates' above.
*Past Winners of the Battle Of The Bands are ineligible for entry in form of their original lineup and/or name.

10. HOW GOES IT?
We here at Side Street Studio Arts want a good and clean battle. We urge that every participant respect and support one another as this is an ever-growing, locally fed, and hugely creative music community that wants to be loud, fun and a platform for future endeavors.

11. **Each participating band will be given a Round 1 date determined by a random draw weeks prior to the Round 1 dates. Any band unable to perform on their randomly selected date must contact Tanner immediately via email, in this case we will try and make an accommodation by offering another band to switch dates. If there are no bands able to switch, the band who is unable to make their date and time will forfeit. The winner(s) of each battle moves on to the next round. All bands are responsible and urged to push the marketing and promotion of their designated battle dates to insure optimal exposure and voting numbers.

12. DATES & SET ORDER for ROUND 1 will be determined by the LOTTERY. The order of which the names are drawn for each Round 1 date, i.e Rounds 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, indicate the SET ORDER OF PERFORMANCE for that date. If a band is unable to perform at their set time for ROUND 1 they must contact Tanner immediately for an attempt at changing times. If there are no other acts willing to switch and a band is unable to perform, they will forfeit that particular battle and be disqualified. There will be NO rescheduling of events.

12a. DATES for ROUND 2 and the FINALS will be determined by a coin flip made by our emcee15 minutes before showtime on these dates. The time will be 6:45pm. In order to participate in the coin flip a band must have at least 1 representative there at that time. If a band is unable to produce 1 member to participate in the coin flip, that band will forfeit and be disqualified. Non-Disqualified bands will be expected to perform if a band forfeits. There will be NO rescheduling of events.

13. Participating bands are responsible for BRINGING THEIR OWN GEAR (Extra Microphones, Amps, Cabs, Instruments, Cables, Drum kits, etc.). Please make to sure bring all equipment necessary for your set.

-Electrical Power, Power Strips and Extension Cables
-PA System includes:
+8 Channel Mixer
+2 15” Powered Speakers (1000 Watts)

+2 Stage Monitors
+3 Vocal Microphones, Cables and Stands
(PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL EQUIPMENT YOU NEED BEFORE PERFORMANCE.
